Our Lil Acre ...... Is a Business Now!!!

As Im writing this, I still cant believe it, I cannot believe I am a business owner!! A business that in a month is thriving and doing better than I could have imagined. Im still in shock over it. So I thought I would offer up a quick story and explain how this came about.

Now Ive never had a passion to be a business owner of any capacity. So this is a shock to me too (lol) So we have a bunch of chickens and will have a bunch more come July. I started really thinking about what to do with all the extra eggs we are about to get. I used to share but people became a little to expectant of it and I stopped doing it because of that. I decided I was no longer going to just give the eggs away. At first I was thinking I could just tell people a few times a month, "hay Im selling eggs on this day yada yada", but that seemed way to complicated. Then I was going to sell chicks, which I still may, but not anytime soon. Then I was like o maybe I can do farmers markets but that required special licensing, so while I was looking up that stuff, I spiraled down a rabbit hole.

So I started texting with my dad about business stuff and before you know it, Our Lil Acre was live and running. Then a few days later, I was like let me look on Ebay to see what fertile eggs sell for and BAM listed some eggs. I started googling images and then made a logo, bought some stamps off Etsy and ordered official stuff from vista print. All within a matter of days. I never expected this, I never even considered this. Having chickens is just a hobby, I love them, they are pets. Im so so happy that the eggs they provide will not be a waste and it is providing a way to care for them.

Business owning has been a little bit of work and stress but so worth it. I cant wait to see what the next year brings us! As always friends, Thanks For Reading
