Garden Line-Up for 2022

Its that time of year again and I couldn't be more pumped. After a lot of though and planning I have my list of veggies and herbs for this year. I generally only like to grow what Im going to eat and what will grow in Florida heat. I also had to plan around the space that I have, the past two years I have used two table top planters and last year I also used a greenhouse. I was going with this plan until I saw the cutest picture of a small garden and decided to recreate it. I had to really search the web for something affordable because apparently galvanized products are all the rage right now. So after searching the web for a few days and narrowing it down to the most affordable, I bought

3 (4x2x1ft) galvanized garden boxes from amazon for 59$ a piece. So I will be using those and the greenhouse for my veggies this year, Im still on the fence if I will be using the boxes or not this year.

So lets talk seeds!! I generally like to start my seeds end of January, being in Florida it gets hot fast so best to start in the cooler weather (which is still hot, lol) I start them in the house and then once there big enough move them. The birds and squirrels are relentless here so I wait as long as possible before transplant. I bought a few packs of seeds from the dollar tree 4 for 1$, a few packs from target for 1.99$ and a few from Lows for the same price. I bought my potatoes from Walmart for 2.99$ and will be using some of my seeds from last year and for one of the melons, I saved them myself from a melon we ate. I also was scrolling on IG and bough some seeds from a insta-buddy. So the lineup is actually big this year. Im really hoping to do well this year and then maybe expand my garden next year, unfortunately I have not been very successful in the past 2 years because of the heat, dogs, birds, bugs and squirrels. So Im hoping this year that will be different. OK so the seed line up is............

  • cucumber *straight eight

  • cucumber *pickling

  • brussle sprouts

  • tomato *beefsteak

  • tomato *large red cherry

  • radish *cherry

  • carrot *Parisian

  • lettuce *ground

  • lettuce *great

  • basil

  • cilantro

  • dill

  • cucamelon

  • wine tomato

  • pepperoncini

  • sweet potato

  • red potato

  • 3 or 4 kinds of watermelons

  • 2 kinds of pumpkins

  • cantaloupe

These are what I have planted so far, I do have a few more packs of seeds but Im starting with this if I can keep this stuff alive for a while, Ill plant the rest.

So wish me luck!!

Happy Planting!!

XOXO

Nikki
