The other day a friend asked me for my chili recipe and I went to get it off my blog and realized.. I have never shared it!! Thats actually so weird because its a meal I make often during the colder months. Its such a basic recipe, I guess I figured everyone must have one, so Ive never posted about it. My daughters are also grown and doing their own thing, asking me for my recipes, so this also gives them a place to get them from. So Ive been trying to put more of them up for that reason.

Ingredients:
1 can of beans 15oz your choice I use black or white and sometimes both
1 can of tomatoes 14oz again your choice, I do petite or crushed
1 can tomato sauce 15oz
a pound of ground beef, I use half a pound when I make this for the family but because Im vegetarian I use sweet potato, Ive been using the frozen 10 oz bag
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/8 ground cayenne pepper
1/8 garlic salt
Directions:
if your using ground beef, you will cook that first (I always drain mine but to each his own)
drain and rise beans
all all ingredients together, give a stir and let simmer
I like to leave mine cook for at least a hour but if your pressed for time, right away is fine too
garnish with whatever you like, sour cream and cheese with fritos is a favorite or a jalapeno, cheese corn bread YUM!! (recipe also on the blog)

The good thing about this, is it can be made on the stove or in a crockpot; set it and forget it. Either way you make this, it will be good. Its perfect for a cold night or when you just need some comfort food :)
I hope you give this a try and if you do let me know what you think, you can also follow me on IG & FB on Our Lil Acre ... links are on the page
As Always Thanks For Reading
